Position Summary
Seeking Audit Manager to assist the Partners in assuming overall responsibilities in a variety of areas, including engagement management and client service, practice development, discipline and industry expertise, external activities and networking, leadership, and people development. The Manager will be a subject matter or client service expert.
 
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related business degree, CPA license, and 9+ years’ accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred with 5-8 years’ experience in auditing a Governmental client.
  • Knowledge and experience of requirements in performing A-133 audits.
  • Advanced knowledge of GASB Standards and their application to the clients’ accounting system.
  • Experience in assisting client in applying for and receiving GFOA Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting program.
  • Demonstrate excellence in advanced technical skills and serve as a subject matter expert in discipline.
  • Proficient in use of necessary discipline software and applications.
  • Demonstrates excellence in client service and business acumen.
  • Conduct self with the utmost professionalism and demonstrate respect towards others.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Comply with pronouncements of professional/other regulatory groups, and enlighten/teach the impact to all staff.
  • Continue to develop industry expertise and stay abreast of industry news and contribute to staff development by sharing industry knowledge.
  • Recognize complex technical issues, reach appropriate conclusions, and apply authority to support conclusions.
  • Participate in client-related planning and effectively communicate all technical material to clients, verbally and in writing.
  • Ensure top-quality client service and oversee total engagement activity.
  • Recognize needs and issues pertinent to client activity and follow through to implementation.
  • Maintain designated chargeable hours for the year and effective realization rates of fees (determined by Geography & Discipline leaders).
  • Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed on all engagement activities.
  • Ensure efficient and profitable execution of engagement financial management.
  • Build and maintain smooth working client to solicit client input on satisfaction.
  • Generate new business annually, from new and existing clients.
  • Solicit internal experts Firm-wide to assist in marketing and selling firm services to existing clients.
  • Be actively involved in community, social, business, and professional organizations to generate referral sources.
  • Be actively involved in product development and product sales that will enhance market opportunities to generate revenue (determined by Discipline and Industry leaders).
  • Actively promote the Firm in all venues and represent the firm and area of expertise by making presentations at third party events.
  • Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities.
  • Complete performance reviews constructively and timely, both written and oral, as well as provides ongoing feedback throughout the performance year.
  • Manage people with poise and professionalism during stressful times, especially during peak periods of client engagement and deadlines.
