TITLE: BLOOD BANK MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN

Summary:
In cooperation with the department supervisor, the medical technologist instructs and performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens in designated disciplines. 
This position will be in the blood bank area.  
The medical technologist follows established standards and policies, reviews patient results for accuracy and diagnostic correlation, uses independent decision making skills, and communicates with a variety of customers. 
The standard of ethical and professional performance must be consistent with established medical laboratory practice and demonstrate the philosophy of the company in the performance of all duties.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Certification as a Medical Technologist, MT(ASCP), CLS(ASCP), MLT(ASCP), (AMT) or equivalent.
Must have experience in Blood Bank area of the lab.
SBB is preferred but not required.


SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to communicate and instruct effectively, perform independent technical and ethical decisions, 
operate simple and high complexity instrumentation, perform simple and high complexity manual and automated procedures, 
organize to perform multiple tasks simultaneously for maximum efficiency, demonstrate knowledge of theory, principles, 
and techniques of laboratory medicine to provide services appropriate to the age of the customer served.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
There is 2 openings currently:
One is a full time position that is 4-10hr shifts on nights(8:30pm-6:30am).
One is a part-time position(.7 fte-56 hours bi weekly) and the shift is 2:30pm-11pm and every third weekend.
This position the person will be working at a Level 1 trauma center and requires a high competency in all areas of blood banking.

The position will pay between 40K-65K depending on experience plus shift differential and they have an excellent benefit package and will assist in relocation.
