Business Development Manager

This is an opportunity for a seasoned Business Development Manager who has experience selling engineering services for an industrial engineering design firm in the Greater Houston area. 

A multi-discipline engineering design firm, headquartered in the Northeast, continues to increase their workload and backlog in the Houston area. They have established a physical presence in the Houston area to meet these increasing business demands, provide a higher level of direct customer interface and build upon the opportunities presented.

This is an opportunity for someone who aspires to develop and grow an organization by capitalizing on existing business with a well-established local customer base and sales support. Their focus is in the industrial arena with emphasis on energy, chemical plants, heavy industrial facilities, oil/gas and midstream operations.

The person selected for this position will have proven success selling engineering design services, preferably to heavy industry customers. You must also be self-motivated to succeed and have an interest in making a real impact on the growth of the company.
If you have the following experience you may qualify for this position:
  • 10+ years’ B2B sales experience selling for a similarly sized and focused company (125-200 people) providing multi-discipline engineering services.
  • Territory will include the industrial market in the Greater Houston area, Oklahoma, Louisiana, etc.
  • Market specifics are oil and gas, petrochemicals, heavy industrial facilities, midstream and occasional downstream opportunities
  • Technical service sales experience
  • The selected individual will been in a business development/sales role for a privately held engineering design firm.  Selling 50k-1M in engineering services
  • Looking for a hunter; new business development experience while capitalizing on existing clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
