  • Purchase and monitor an assigned category of inventory
  • Responsible for purchasing components, and various metals (sheet metal, steel and aluminum) domestically
  • Negotiate prices, leverage buys and analyze purchasing reports to reduce inventory and purchase a quality product at the best possible price
  • Manage inventory of purchased items required to fulfill the needs purchased
  • Manage and minimize excess/obsolete inventory
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools such as Kanban, just-in-time, postponement and other materials strategies to reduce inventory while increasing delivery.
  • Maintain integrity of ERP data and maintain accuracy of inventory transactions throughout entire planning and purchasing process
  • Improve fill rates, quality, lead times and needs while monitoring and tracking delivery performance
  • Bachelor degree is preferred; ideally in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or related
  • 2-4 years of purchasing, buying experience is required
  • Prefer military vetrans
  • Experience in a manufacturing assembly operation or equivalent military experience
  • Must have purchasing experience, strongly prefer metals experience (sheet metal, coils, steel, aluminum) or similar
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office
  • Intermediate with MS Excel; knowledge of formulas, vlookups, and pivot tables.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • Self-directed, self-managed and ability to work in a complex custom manufacturing environment
