Job Description
Provide support and engineering leadership at a local level for the daily operations for individual technical centers and provide technical support for pre and post machine tool sales, develop and execute machining time estimates, develop test cuts and cutting demonstrations as directed by the sales organization and customer requirements

  • Review, understand and provide technical directions for test cuts, time estimates, and turnkey projects.
  • Schedule and direct engineering team activities according to company order intake directives and customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Engineer, execute and trouble shoot complex manufacturing and machining processes utilizing Company processes, systems and knowledge centers.
  • Assimilate latest internal/external manufacturing technologies and provide knowledge transfer to team.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manage project costs and engineering activities per local budget constraints.
  • Deliver high level technical presentations to customers, engineering staff, sales staff, suppliers and management.
  • Identify training gaps for engineering staff and provide the appropriate training.
  • Participate in the hiring process for engineering staff.
  • Self-directed for all tasks related to project requirements and project management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred and/or machining knowledge.
  • 8+ years of related machining experience, including part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, and machine setup.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate engineering staff.
  • Ability to communicate company directives and goals to engineering staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Proven experience to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Proven flexibility with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proven organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as required per project deadline.s

Work Environment:

Exposure to manufacturing/machining environments which may present possible hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery. 

Physical Demands:

Frequent: Travel, operating a vehicle, sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones, standing, and walking. Periodic: Operating power equipment. Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
Occasional: Bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Lifting or moving up to 50lbs.
