Job Description

Our client is seeking candidates for multiple 2nd shift CNC (Lathe or Mill) opportunities! 
Essential Functions

Review job traveler and verify job requirements.
Verify program and tool are correct for current job.
Check all process components including material, lubricants, packaging and appropriate inspection equipment, etc.
Perform mechanical tasks including loading and unloading vices, fixtures and parts.
Operate machining center to manufacture production as required following standard machining operation procedures.
Use hand and/or power tools to match, drill, and ream, install hardware and/or fit components into place.
Visually inspect production for burrs, scrapes, rust and other defects.
Use cleaning solutions and rust inhibitor for various materials.
Check production against sample and/or print using various gages, micrometers, calipers, etc.
Check job traveler; complete tag or move ticket including count, traveler number, current operation, next operation, date, employee name/number.
Separate rejected product for sorting; check and ensure appropriate part identification ticket is in place.
Review, update and maintain notes indicating unique or difficult aspects of job.
Use had truck to move parts from department to department.
Perform routine maintenance on all assigned equipment and machinery as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate all problems and other work related issues with supervisor.
Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instruction.                                                   
Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork, including system updates, associated with position.
Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements.
Maintain meet or exceed rating on all performance evaluations.
Participate in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental processes and product quality.
Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others.
Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by supervisor. 

Minimum Education, Skills & Abilities
 
Entry level position – exposure to manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
Ability to learn to speak, read and communicate in English
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Basic shop math understanding.
Technical knowledge of assigned machines.
Distinguish a variety of raw materials (stainless steel, cold rolled steel, etc.) 
Understand machining properties of various raw materials (303STv. 304SST)
Effective communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
OSHA required training in Lock-out / Tag-out, Hazard Communication, PPE and Emergency Evacuation.
