Job Description
Controls Systems Integration firm focused on the Water, Wastewater, and Power industries, is searching for an experienced Controls Engineer in the Southern California area.  The Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing strong client relationships with existing and new clients, perform work on client sites and in the office, support sales and business development through possible in person meetings, proposal development, estimating using their knowledge of how control systems are defined, designed and developed.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform systems integration services including supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), plant controls, telecommunication, and related systems.
  • Design and program SCADA Systems, human-machine interface (HMI), and PLCs for municipal water or wastewater treatment plants.
  • Provide technical support to help clients deal with any on-site issues post-equipment installation; troubleshoot communication issues between field devices, communication networks, PLC and SCADA.
  • Review and prepare design drawings and specifications, process control narratives (PCN), instrument lists, and I/O lists.
  • Configure operating system and other software packages on workstations and services deployed in the onsite production environment.

 Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-15 years of technical experience with technology-related projects:
  • Detailed PLC programming - ControlLogix preferred
  • SCADA/HMI programming required - WonderWare iFix required
  • GE iFix experience preferred
  • GE PACS RX3i experience preferred
  • Use and creation of UDTs and function blocks.
  • Ability to modify existing and create new VBA code.
  • Ability to create HMI/PLC standards 
  • Experience implemented projects including: design, systems integration, onsite commissioning, contract administration and site supervision
  • Experience developing user training manuals and providing onsite customer training courses
  • Experience deploying SCADA systems and providing continuing customer support/maintenance
  • Recent experience in water/wastewater industry preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must have prior experience writing control narratives for a water/wastewater process.
  • Thorough knowledge of, and experience using, Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).AutoCAD a plus
  • Networking, virtualization implementation, database programming, and Microsoft OS configuration, is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required for business development, technical meetings and/or commissioning. Travel is project and opportunity specific but not expected to be more than 30%
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP) a plus
  • Control Systems Engineer (CSE) or Professional Engineer (PE) a plus
