We are looking for someone with a strong blend of strategic acumen, a strong tactician who knows how to close deals, and a mentor to the sales team, and someone who can determine the target markets and pricing strategy for the future.  Your responsibilities will include all sales and marketing, management of company sales reps, sales agencies, internal sales, customer service, and pricing.    The ownership and management team is excellent and this is a culture of teamwork and mutual respect. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES of the Director of Sales
  • Increase sales through your efforts and the current sales reps, developing a team of internal, external and independent reps; coupled with personal efforts in sales and business development. 
  • Participate in sales activities and act as “the closer” for big accounts and opportunities.
  • The Director of Sales will establish sales goals, and direct the efforts of this area in terms of marketing and sales efforts to achieve these goals.
  • The Director of Sales will construct contracts for key customers and influence the decision making process.
  • The Director of Sales will train, mentor and coach the broker, distributor, and  sales team and any reps to improve their sales skills and knowledge of our products and applications (when/if applicable).
  • The Director of Sales will research market trends and suggest ideas for new product development and product enhancements. 
  • Determine what represents “good business”, what should be off-sourced, and what can be retained through price increases.
  • Keep pricing consistent with raw materials (increases/decreases).
 
   QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relentless sales professional with the proven ability to proficiently analyze, prepare presentations, and close profitable sales initiatives. 
  • 5 years of sales in the plastics industry. 
  • 5 years of sales management experience, hiring and mentoring sales reps.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to establish pricing programs and keep pricing profitable in spite of raw material changes.
  • Strong sales training experience and proven ability to hire and develop a sales team. 
  • Knowledge of managing rep groups.
  • Looking for someone who loves to be in front of customers and who loves to spend time mentoring reps to help them in their roles.
  • 4 year degree preferred.
