Job Description
Manufacturer of confection based dietary supplements and nutritional vitamins supplying the sports nutrition, natural product and nutraceutical markets. 
200K sq.ft. Plant with 500 employees, 5-day, 3 shift, 3 mogul lines, 14 packaging lines, producing 30mm products daily.  Company holds 37% of this market.
 
Responsibilities:

Hands-on position that oversees and manages the day-to-day facility operations and maintenance of buildings, environmental compliance and safety program.

Support the maintenance and production operations systems including HVAC, lighting, compressed air systems, construction, boilers, chillers, plumbing,
renovation projects and preventive maintenance plans and documentation.

Project management for small to medium size renovations and improvements.

Supervise the facilities crew of 10+ in scheduling, work assignments and training and development.

Audit, assess, and improve Environmental Management System (EMS) compliance and complete Environmental Compliance Reports. 

Manage Hazardous Waste Manifests, reports, permits, monitoring, incident investigation of safety hazards, records and documentation.

Perform regulatory program audits and inspections with follow up reviews and updated documentation.

Provide needed ability to cover unexpected surprise regulatory inspections and any other facility incidents. 

Manage permits and licenses for all regulatory requirements including renewals, postings and documentation.

Manage the Cal-OSHA Injury and Illness Prevention Program for a pro-active safety approach to work area inspections, job hazard analysis,
machine guarding and lock out tag out procedures.

Update EHS training program presentations and lead safety committee meetings and provide EHS training.

Manage and evaluate vendor capabilities that provide required products or services.
 
Qualifications
 
BS - EHS or BSE or related.

3+ years’ experience directly related to facilities maintenance engineering and EHS programs; regulatory reporting to federal, state, and local agencies.

Knowledge of regulatory permits, EPA, Air Quality, Waste Water monitoring, incident investigations.

Knowledge of managing capital projects, utilities, plant drawings, equipment documentation and preventative predictive maintenance.  AutoCAD, CMMS.

Ability to plan, conduct training programs.
