Lead Design Engineer - Electric Motors:

The Lead Design Engineer is required to play a vital role in the development and assembly of 3-D CAD models and 2-D manufacturing drawings. This client is well known for the development of advanced technology for power train, hybrid, stability controls, and other systems. In this role you will be responsible for all the activities related to design, improvements, validation and product launch of small DC brushless electric motors and HEV traction motors for automotive powertrain products applications. If you have strong knowledge and experience with small DC brushless electric motors and HEV traction motors, then you may also get an opportunity to lead a global team of Engineers.
 

Responsibilities of the Lead Design Engineer - Electric Motors:
  • Work with global team of Engineers for design, improvements, validation and product launch of small DC brushless electric motors and HEV traction motors for automotive powertrain products applications.
  • Create and manage creation of component and assembly 3-D CAD models and 2-D manufacturing drawings.
  • Facilitate Motor program technical communication between OEM customers and Manufacturing sites.
  • Provide support to the local and global cross functional teams for product design and technical functions.
  • On-site support to the Motor manufacturing facilities for engineering duties during sample and mass production timing.
  • Participate and manage activities related to product pricing, quoting and cost investigation.
  • Documentation of technical data and information.

Qualifications of the Lead Design Engineer - Electric Motors:
  • BSME or BSEE or realted technical field, Masters preferred.
  • 7+ years of team work experience with the original design of small electric drive motors or HEV traction motors.
  • Experience with Automotive industry 3D CAD programs to generate full function, multi-part assy 3-D models.
  • Support motor program objectives or training or program support at global sites.
  • Practical work experience with CAE / FEA program simulation for mechanical design verification project
  • Experience with suppliers and customers to explain technical documents / drawings / information is preferred
  • Experience in leading or managing a global team will be preferred.
  • Experience at original creation and / or review for revision of a Motor product DFMEA is preferred.
  • Experience in motor calculations including JMAG or similar software.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese languages will be preferred..

Compensation of the Lead Design Engineer - Electric Motors:  
$100,000-$125,000/ year, based on experience
