Job Description
Specific Job Duties:
  • This is an on the floor type of position, working closely with the manufacturing teams. As the Manufacturing Execution Systems Engineer, you will work with production, process, and automation, developing system integration solutions, and robust handshaking systems.
  • The MES Engineer will develop the specifications for future projects that will have an MES system.
  • Manage all Engineering Changes (EC) in the MES and work with APQP on specific part number changeovers and proper execution.  This includes ensuring new product labeling changes and Initial product tagging systems.
  • Develop all custom reports, displays, and labeling updates as required.
  • Monitor assembly lines running an MES and be able to make on the fly decisions on how to manage live broadcasts running through those lines to minimize scrap and mismatch sequences through stations. 
  • MES Engineer will be in charge of testing manual back up broadcast systems and ensuring a no glitch changeover if primary broadcast methods were to fail. 
  • MES Engineer will prepare KPI information for monthly internal review.
  • Responsible for ensuring launch checklists and open issues are maintained and up to date.
  • Will engage with senior leadership on continuous improvements and daily issues.
  • Take a “hands-on” approach to all areas of assembly and sequencing.
  • Follow timelines and keep Program launch checklists up to date for their required items.
  • MES Engineer will participate in open issues meetings and be able to speak to updates and timing.
  • MES Engineer Must be self-motivated have a flexible schedule and be open to travel.
  • Continuously improve processes utilizing synchronous and lean manufacturing techniques to improve labor efficiencies and quality. 
  • Assist in investigating customer and sequencing quality issues and implement corrective action plans to improve products and processes.
  • Review new technologies, benchmarking them against other divisions, as well as, other manufacturing facilities to determine their relevance.

  • A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Exposure to synchronous manufacturing, Manufacturing Execution systems, and some Knowledge of PLC/HMI systems.
  • Must understand SQL databases and be fluent in programming and writing custom queries, reports, custom labeling, developing web base reports, and displays. Programming experience should include .Net, JavaScript, Ajax, SQL (Microsoft Stack) 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills a must (Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD,Visview)
  • InSequence, Nysus, or Solidat background preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimal supervision and participate as a team player.
