Successful, non-automotive manufacturer is seeking a Machining Engineer to join their engineering team. As the Machining Engineer, you will report to an Engineering Manager and will work daily with the production staff and the engineering team to meet production goals.   Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:  
  • Represent the machining department as the site specialist related to machining
  • Write and maintain CNC programs with G-Code and/or MasterCAM
  • Partner with tool room and outside vendors on tool designs, including fixtures and inspection jigs
  • Troubleshoot equipment
  • Make adjustments to CNC programs in order to increase efficiencies
  • Participate in new product development reviews and meetings
  • Determine the manufacturability of new components
  • Other duties as directed by management
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, determining manufacturability of products, communicating with hourly staff to enhance production and manufacturing goals and being creative in the continuous improvement process. Depending on projects, candidates will spend up to 70% of their time on the manufacturing floor.

REQUIREMENTS for the Machining Engineer:
1. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least one year of similar engineering work experience OR an associate’s degree with at least three years of similar engineering work experience  
2. Experience working in metal related CNC machining environments 
3. The ability to program CNC   
4. A general understanding of G Code
5. The ability to read blueprints
6. Experience with tooling, including fixtures and/or jigs
7. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. MasterCAM
2. New product development
3. Six Sigma methodologies
4. Experience working as a machinist

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Upper Sandusky, OH area.  There is not a relocation package being offered for this position.
