Job Description

Maintenance Electrician

  • Our client is a food manufacturing facility located in the western suburbs of Chicago land area

  • The facility is expanding and adding 2 mechanics to their operation; they are searching for entry level to senior level electricians 
  • They have two jobs open: 1st shift (7 am - 3 pm) and 2nd shift (3 pm - 11 pm)

Position Responsibilities
  • Focus on electrical troubleshooting with some mechanical troubleshooting when necessary
  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery to ensure continuous production operations
  • Program and troubleshoot variable frequency drives
  • Troubleshoot PLC's 
  • Read blueprints and schematics 
  • Perform scheduled PM's
  • Maintain and repair processing and packaging equipment in operation, which includes packaging equipment, pumps, motors, conveyors, presses, PLC’s, VFD’s and similar equipment.
  • Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical issues
  • Change motors
  • Be proactive and run projects to ensure operation runs smoothly.  
  • Work with a highly skilled, well tenured team of 20+ mechanics and electricians 
 
Requirements
  • Prefer Associates or other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 1-10 years of maintenance experience within in a manufacturing environment.  Food experience is preferred but not required (looking at entry level or senior mechanics)
  • Well versed in electrical troubleshooting with understanding of mechanical troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated experience with Allen Bradley PLC controllers and variance frequency drives (VFD’s), programming experience is a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, conveyors, packaging equipment, pumps, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics
