Job Description

Plant Production Manager - Summary:
The Production Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for coordinating the activities of production personnel/teams in order to meet customer delivery and product quality requirements. Oversees performance of departmental personnel, conducts performance reviews, and initiates corrective action measures to address performance problems, as needed. Ensures compliance to existing policies and procedures and initiates and manages improvement activities. 
 

Plant Production Manager  - Responsibilities:
  • Leads all assembly operations in the plant and coordinates the work of production departments through familiarity with all assembly processes; continual awareness of customer shipping requirements, work schedules and quality levels; staffing required to meet these schedules, ratio of indirect to direct labor.
  • Responsible for identification, implementation and verification of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Conducts plant inspections to ensure safe work practices by visual observations, memos, personal guidance and if necessary, corrective.
  • Responsible for the implementation and compliance with shop floor standards.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the product produced.
  • Has the authority and responsibility to identify quality problems and take appropriate action including halting production, determining root cause and initiating corrective action in order to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Motivates and directs the training of all production personnel through the ability to select competent individuals.
  • Ensures the Customers needs are met.
  • Acts as a liaison with managers and staff and effectively communicate relevant information to those who need to know.
  • Displays a demeanor and leadership style that is consistent with the Company’s values and management philosophy.
  • Jointly establishes individual objectives through analysis of, and familiarity with, each individual’s job functions.
  • Understanding and participating in HSE&E practices, which are applicable to their job function.
  • Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.

 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required
  • Must have recent experience in Automotive Industry. 
  • Manufacturing experience with a minimum of  three years experience plus leadership experience.
  • Ability to motivate and delegate authority to subordinate personnel.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making ability.
