TITLE: Nurse Practitioner Behavioral Health
LOCATION: OHIO

An opportunity to work in northern Ohio for an established healthcare system.

SUMMARY 
The Nurse Practitioner will function as part of a highly qualified team within the Behavioral Health Program. 
Provides clinical patient care in accordance with hospital policy for Psychiatric/Medication Services, utilization review, case management, quality management, and compliance programs to the extent that is medically reasonable and appropriate to do so. 
Under the auspices of the Medical Director, the NP provides care for patients in the Outpatient Behavioral Health offices and/or the Inpatient Psychiatric unit. 
Provides evaluation and management services for persons with psychiatric problems. 

ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Direct Patient Care Services: 
-Provides psychiatric medication services to patients, including assessment and follow-up appointments. 
-Prescribes medication following the hospital’s policies, formulary and relevant State regulations including the use of the OARRS System. 
-Interprets diagnostic data, and coordination of patient plans of care as well as staff, patient, and caregiver education.
-Utilizes current practice standards and evidence-based practices when treating psychiatric population. 
Planning/Organizing/Initiating: 
-Organizes and prioritizes clinical responsibilities to maximize time efficiency and productivity. 
-Develops and implements treatment plan and evaluates progress toward goals.
-Provides psychiatric information and collaborates with primary care physicians about the patient’s progress toward maintenance and recovery. 
-Understands coding and billing of services provided. 

QUALIFICATIONS
-Nurse Practitioner Master’s Level prepared in an area consistent with the population to be serviced. 
-Current Nurse Practitioner license in good standing. 
-ANCC or PMHCNS certification
-Minimum of two years prior experience preferred. 
-Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organization skills.
