Job Description
Essential Functions:
Knowledge of CNC Turning (Milling experience a big plus - 5 Axis).
Job Shop experience needed unless coming out of a Medical Device facility.  
Provides on-going shop floor support for all machining, metal finishing and assembly methods for assigned products lines.
Creates conceptual designs for fixture, gages and special cutting tools. Conducts toll design review with senior Programmer Engineer, department leader, purchasing personnel and outside tool suppliers.
Initiates drawing change with the customer's engineer to improve manufacturing quality to reduce cost.
Write CNC Programs (Gibbscam), troubleshoots CNC programming problems on the floor. Coordinates necessary program change with the Senior Programmer Engineer.
Provides technical support to the purchasing personnel and suppliers by interpreting product drawings, initiating the development of manufacturing drawing and resolving technical production problems.
Working with the programmer and department leader, maintaining manufacturing set up sheets for all machining, assembly , and finishing operation.
Resolves technical production problems on assigned product lines in machining, metal finishing and assembly operations working with shop employees and quality personnel. 
Trains shop employees on improvement to manufacturing methods, products and new production equipment.
Recommends plant equipment acquisitions.
Initiates improvements in current manufacturing methods and processes to improve part quality, schedule performance and to reduce manufacturing cost.
Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instruction.                                                   
Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements.
Participate in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental processes and product quality.
Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others.
May visit customers to reinforce relationship, solve problems, rework non-conforming product.
Maintain organized and clean work area.
Communicate all problems and work related issues, including personnel issues and accomplishments to supervisor.
Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork associated with the position.
Other duties as assigned to meet departmental goals.


Above average reading, writing, and advanced arithmetic skills required
Knowledge of metals, coatings, plating and other applicable products and processes
Ability to read, interpret, and apply blueprints and schematics with GD&T functions.
Ability to operate a PC and generate reports, quality documentation, and use related software
Ability to communicate effectively with others regarding technical materials
Values others ideas and experience working in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
