Job Description
Responsible for all phases of authoring inspection documentation, certification packages, drawing revisions and other duties as assigned.
 
Essential Functions:
 
Develop Inspection sheets for machined parts from drawings and specifications.
Administers quality documentation under the direction of the Quality Manager.
Interpret inspection data to determine if product meets print standards.
Review Inspection Data with Lead men or Engineering Dept. in order to improve the quality of inspection documentation.
Assist in development and writing control plans and FMEA documentation.
Communicate with customer contacts regarding quality documentation/inspection concerns.
Use of the computer systems (Excel, Vista, Word) to produce documentation and certifications.
Processes customer designated drawing changes/revisions.
Interpret drawings, and convert from metric to standard units.
Maintain various records and lists.
Communicate with technicians about planned work and answer any questions pertaining to inspection documentation.
Provide on-the-job training to other employee as required.
Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instruction.                                                 
Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements.
Participate in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental processes and product quality.
Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others.
May visit customers to reinforce relationship, solve problems, review non-conforming product.
Maintain organized and clean work area.
Communicate all problems and work related issues, including personnel issues and accomplishments to supervisor.
Timely and accurate completion of all tasks associated with the position.
Other duties as assigned to meet departmental goals.
Performs first piece, in-process and final inspection and measurement to close tolerances ensuring conformance to customer and company specifications.  Work from product drawings and inspection documents. Set up gauges and equipment, and record trends and findings. Participate in inter-departmental communications.

Minimum Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret customer drawings and specifications.
Manual and mental dexterity required for operating computers. 
Understand statistical process control  (SPC).
Understand and use a variety of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).
Math abilities including addition, subtraction, use of fractions, decimals and conversion of metric to inches.
Good communication skills including the ability to receive oral and written instruction and relay quality issues to others.
