Job Description
Key role in a frozen food plant with 750 associates. Position reports to the Plant Manager and is at the strategic staff level. We are looking for a solid leader with demonstrated success in growing and improving quality in a food manufacturing environment. Candidates must have significant USDA and FDA experience. Experience with wet sanitation practices a plus. Must have some environmental and have a four year degree in a related discipline. Master's preferred. Essential duties and responsibilities are:
* Develop and maintain plant quality systems and compliance measures.
* Lead the food safety, sanitation, tech services and lab functions
* Make safety in the workplace your top priority along with quality
* Ensure compliance to state, federal and local regualtions
* Assure efficient and accurate testing, reporting and monitoring of product safety and quality
* Maintain systems for checking and verifying processes including SPC, HACCP, Quality, and Formula Control.
* Lead and develop implementation plans for plant GMP, Hygiene and Sanitation.
* Train plant personnel in food safety and quality procedures.
* Advise Plant Mgmt. team on quality trends and issues and recommends corrective action.
* Prepare annual operating budgets for all depts. under your supervision.
* Develop and ssupervise internal audits to regularly monitor performance in the areas of food quality and sanitation.
* Serve as plant contact for USDA and FDA. 

Must have 5+ years of Quality Management experience in a food environment. Lean experience . BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related major is required. Master's preferred. Appropriate industry related certifications also desired.
