The Administrator is responsible for providing leadership, staff development, budgeting, and management of key services in accordance with regulatory requirements and CHAP standards. Complies with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Hospice / Home Health agencies to assure each patient receives the necessary nursing and medical services to attain and maintain the highest possible functional status, within fiscally responsible standards. 

Qualifications
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required.
  • Minimum, three (3) to five (5) years of experience in hospice / home health, with a minimum of two (2) years administrative/supervisory experience in hospice / home health program. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing personnel administration. 
  • Ability to understand state and federal regulations and keep the agency in compliance with all regulations. 
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant, and to take necessary steps to ensure a safe environment for patient care.

Supervises : All clinical and non-clinical professionals 


Essential Position Responsibilities:
  • Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services. 
  • Assists in interpreting the organizational structure to personnel as needed. 
  • Maintains Agency compliance with standards and keeps agency prepared for unannounced surveys. 
  • Complies with Texas Workforce Commission directives and guidelines to maintain appropriate personnel practices. 
  • Evaluates Agency staffing, equipment and space needs for the cost effective and efficient delivery of services. 
  • Selects, Trains, Orients and assigns departmental staff, either directly or through subordinate supervisor. Evaluates performance of personnel and makes recommendations for appropriate personnel action. 
  • Directs the preparation of Agency reports. Submits reports to the Home Office as required. 
  • Motivates staff morale and maintains a positive and optimistic outlook, always. 
  • Participates in Quality Assurance activities and ensures an active program of ongoing Quality Improvement. 
  • Assures appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours.
  • Informs the governing body, staff and professional advisory group of current organizational, community, and industry trends. 
  • Prepares relevant statistics and reports when needed. 
  • Responsible for understanding, respecting and following Corporate Compliance Program and insures that fraud and abuse are reported per policy and procedure.
