Outstanding, patient centered hospice & palliative care provider is searching for an RN / Clinical Operations Director - Patient Care Administrator with proven verifiable success to lead the delivery of hospice and palliative care services.

The Patient Care Administrator will oversee the clinical and financial operations of the multi-disciplinary staff, ensure care is provided to the ultimate satisfaction of patients and their families ensuring clinical appropriateness and quality of patient care according to Medicare regulations.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND:
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment
  • Hospice or Home Health industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years hospice or home health clinical operations management experience.
  • Current or recent Multi-Site Hospice or Home Health operations experience.
  • Experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring.
  • Broad knowledge of federal and state regulations/administration
  • Outstanding leadership, managerial skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and assertiveness skills 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Connecticut State Regulations for Home Health Care Agencies

19-13-D67. Personnel

  1. An agency supervisor of clinical services shall be a registered nurse with an active license to practice nursing in this state, and shall have one of the following:
    1. A master's degree from a program approved by the National League for Nursing or the American Public Health Association with a minimum of one year (1) fulltime clinical experience in a home health agency or related community health program which included care of the sick at home; or
    2. A baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience in nursing, at least (1)one of which was in a home health agency or community health program which included care of the sick at home; or
    3. A registered nurse who has been continuously employed in the position of supervisor of clinical services in a home health agency in this state since January 1, 1979; or 
    4. A diploma in nursing or an associates degree in nursing and 
      1. A minimum of three years of full-time or full-time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past five years, at least one year of which was in a home health care agency or community health program
which included care of the sick at home; and
  1. Evidence of certification by the American Nurses' Association as a community health nurse or completion of at least six credits received within two years in community health nursing theory or six credits in health care management from an accredited college or university program or school of nursing.
  1. An agency supervisor of physical therapy services shall be a registered physical therapist licensed to practice physical therapy in this state who has a minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience in physical therapy. 
  2. An agency supervisor of occupational therapy services shall be an occupational therapist licensed to practice occupational therapy in this state who has a minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience in occupational therapy.
  3. An agency supervisor of speech pathology services shall be a speech pathologist licensed to practice speech pathology in this state who has a minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience in speech pathology. 
  4. An agency supervisor of social work services shall be a graduate of a master's degree program in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education who has a minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience in social work. (Effective April 24, 1989; Amended August 31, 1998).
