Job Description
Leading and established company with a good working culture has a newly created opportunity at their site in southern NY state for a Reliability Engineer that will responsible for evaluation and audit of electrical systems/components and software product changes for impact to operational performance, full-life durability and warranty.  In this role will participate in the development of standard methods/practices for the reliability department and is accountable for those related to the qualification of electrical systems and also software.  Will work to become a subject matter expert on circuit designs, electrical control systems, sensor types/operation, display systems, motor controller hardware/software parameters, truck software to include embedded truck-side software, diagnostics, flashware, operational control and error code recording/ analysis. Will act as internal auditor and reviewer of FMEA analysis of electrical vehicle systems.  Will assist in diagnosing system and component malfunctions, isolating problems and recommending improvements.  Some travel to customers, suppliers and other plants can occur.   A relocation package is also available. 
 
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering such as Reliability, Quality, Electrical or Mechanical
  • Circuit card design
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills that are strong
  • Able to work on complex projects with cross-functional teams
  • Solving and troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical and software issues
  • Working knowledge of CAN Bus fundamentals and C++
  • Working knowledge of version control tools such as GIT and Subversion
  • Experience in one of the following areas:  software testing of industrial, mobile or off the road vehicle; logic/power circuit design, microcontroller-based control systems; electric motor/motor control
  • Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship
  • prefer embedded vehicle software experience
