Position Summary
Seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to report to the Senior Tax Manager and assist with various projects and compliance needs that impact the firm’s tax department worldwide. The Tax Analyst will work with individuals across offices at various levels throughout the firm.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field required; CPA designation or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a structured tax department (public or corporate) required; background in partnership, individual, and international tax a plus.
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills within professional background required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team but also take initiative and work independently.
  • Self-starter who shows ownership and commitment to the job with ability to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and work efficiently under the pressure of meeting multiple deadlines at once.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with all aspects of firm’s tax compliance, including U.S. and international tax returns, sales & use tax, property tax, insurance tax, foreign bank account filings, and information returns.
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance matters: review workpapers, tax returns, and issue tax payments.
  • Act as a contact for foreign accounting managers and stay abreast of indirect tax laws to ensure returns are filed in a timely manner.
  • Manage tax withholding and payment process for partners in all jurisdictions where the partner is not resident or tax domiciled.
  • Support payroll function with foreign and U.S. payroll compliance matters.
  • Prepare responses for inquiries received related to federal, international, state, and local tax audits.
  • Research domestic/international tax reporting matters using IRS Tax Code, Tax Treaties, etc.
  • Apply knowledge of partnership and partner taxation and prepare various tax analysis for individuals.
  • Prepare memoranda to document and communicate tax issues.
  • Develop understanding of firm’s operations and law firm industry and appreciation for customer service.
  • Participate in other general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and special project responsibilities.
