Position Summary
Seeking a Tax Senior Accountant to be a bridge between staff, who are executing the client-services related tasks, and the management, who are strategizing and overseeing successful completion of efficient engagement activity and top-quality client service. To be a liaison to management, the Senior needs to develop a broader scope of the business into a supervisory role. The senior is expected to oversee the day-to-day activities on multiple engagements and/or supervise multiple team members. The role will perform the most complex technical tasks of the engagement and work more frequently with less supervision to able to explore opportunities amongst various industries over time and then narrow down their industry focus.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2-6 years’ experience in a relevant position; Public Accounting or another professional services environment preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of all technical aspects of the job, including related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge effectively through written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in use of all technology necessary to performance execution.
  • Ability to positively represent and actively promote Firm and participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities.
  • Ability to recognize complex technical issues, evaluate facts efficiently, and use strategic decision-making skills to assist management in solving problems.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff with poise and professionalism during stressful times, especially during peak periods of client engagement and deadlines.
  • Ability to serve as a role model for the staff and promote the ideals, values, mission, and vision of Firm.
  • Ability to be professional and show respect to others as well as be cooperative and responsive to training, supervision, and constructive criticism.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review work of less experienced staff and share knowledge to develop staff technical skills.
  • Demonstrate savvy and understanding of interrelationship with other departments.
  • Follow regulations and professional ethics of state bodies appropriate to discipline, including AICPA.
  • Handle more complex tasks and projects within discipline/function and keep current on all professional pronouncements.
  • Ensure top quality client service and oversee client service performance of staff.
  • Assist management in planning and managing engagement activity and follow through to achieve results.
  • Recognize needs and issues pertinent to client activity and demonstrate ownership of engagement’s day-to-day tasks and activities.
  • Maintain designated chargeable hours for the year (determined by Geography & Discipline leaders).
  • Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed.
  • Coordinate various phases of engagement with Management.
  • Build and maintain smooth working client relationships.
  • Respond timely and accurately to internal team and client requests.
  • Seek innovative ideas and better ways of accomplishing job and company goals.
  • Build knowledge base of the Firm’s industry lines and service offerings.
  • Solicit internal experts from which to learn and builds relationships.
  • Begin to develop referral sources, which may include involvement in community, social, business, and professional organizations, as well as Alumni functions.
  • Develop understanding of how to identify market opportunities and assist management in identifying marketing and sales opportunities.
  • Provide timely input to Manager on performance reviews.
  • Assist management in motivating all staff and building morale.
  • Enter time and expenses to support efficient billing processes in a timely manner.
