Position Summary
Seeking a Tax Manager to oversee and manage a variety of tax compliance and advisory client engagements and provide tax compliance and consulting to a diverse base of corporate and individual clients. The Manager is integral to the client engagement team and is often in direct contact with clients. The role will provide technical expertise to solve clients’ business and tax challenges, oversee complex technical tax research projects, and work to grow and develop the company’s team of experts.
Minimum Education & Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Tax and minimum 6-10 years’ tax compliance and consulting experience.
  • CPA required.
  • Strong technical knowledge, developing area of expertise, and a passion for continuous professional development.
  • Strong analytical ability, research, and project management skills.
  • Team management skills, including ability to lead, direct, and coach.
  • Ability to build and cultivate relationships both internally and with the business community.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in various software tools.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct review of complex income tax returns for multi-national corporate, S-corporate, partnership, and high net worth individual clients with emphasis in high technology, real estate, manufacturing, retail and service industries.
  • Review and prepare quarterly and annual global income tax provisions and footnotes under ASC740/FAS 109 for public corporations and closely-held corporations.
  • Review and prepare FIN 48 analyses.
  • Review client structure to determine federal, state, and international compliance requirements for domestic and foreign entities, including PFIC.
  • Review complex partnership capital allocations in accordance with the related partnership agreement.
  • Review and calculate subpart F income, section 78 gross-up, earnings and profits, and foreign tax credits.
  • Perform change in accounting method reviews and assist and manage income tax audits.
  • Research and prepare memorandums on a wide range of international and domestic tax issues.
  • Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure quality client service.
  • Serve as a business advisor to clients, providing value added services.
  • Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
