 Job Summary
The Technical Production Manager will work across all disciplines including exhibits, special events, experiential marketing, permanent installations, and tradeshows.
As Technical Production Manager, you will be responsible for guiding and managing technical requirements or enhancements for assigned projects. As an integral member of the project team (sales, design, engineering, and overall production management) you will define the technical scope and structure of projects. You will also develop and manage technical budgets from inception through project closure.  You will be responsible for ensuring the technical aspects of a project are produced on time and within budgetwhile achieving the creative objectives of our clients and maintaining Hargrove's quality standards.  
Responsibilities and Duties
 Technical Sourcing
  • Identify and develop key resources locally, nationally, and internationally that can be utilized on projects of various sizes and complexity as it relates audio, video, lighting, innovative event technology, rigging, power and cabling.
  • Participate in applicable design/estimate review meetings to identify technical requirements and develop technical solutions to enhance project aesthetics.
  • Author RFP documents as needed for competitive bidding process
  • Guide identified vendors through competitive RFP processes to establish vendor depth and competitive pricing, ensuring Hargrove quality on all production lines.
  • Manage the acquisition of appropriate vendors and/or products.
  • Conduct continuous production technical reviews to further company's best practices.
 Technical Management
  • Develop technical budgets, working closely with the overall Production Manager to determine job costing.
  • Participate in site surveys, if needed, to verify accuracy of venue information.
  • Establish tasks and deliverable timelines for technical vendors.
  • Review all adjustments to the project design or production plan and provide pro-active solutions to ensure the job maintains the quality standards of the company, the objectives of the client, the integrity of the proposal and design, and remains cost effective.
  • Assist project team in developing an efficient installation plan for all technical production items by identifying cost-effective techniques to ensure the plan meets budget objectives and achieves the high quality standards established by the company.
  • Occasionally manage technical vendors on-site, including but not limited to directing timing of installed items and coordinating with all other production elements, etc.
  • Participate in the post-project review process to identify best practices and determine alternative technical solutions for future projects.
  • Occasional travel, as needed.
  • Manage a small inventory of Hargrove technical assets and show site staff training on correct use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary under the direction of the Manager Production Management.
 Industry Knowledge/Client Interface
  • Assist in sales development by identifying opportunities to provide comprehensive technical service solutions for specific projects.
  • Participate in select sales presentations.
  • Keep current with emerging trends, tools and technologies in the audio-visual industry and integrate those solutions into the sales and production process.
 Required Skills and Experience
 5-10 years' experience in all aspects of technical production.
  • Knowledge in or at least intense curiosity in 'RFI technology, Touch screen applications, Audience engagement applications, lighting and audio trends, video projection including video mapping, customizing applications, web streaming services, cable feeds and connectivity
  • Field experience and knowledge of events, trade show, exhibits, permanent display installations and experiential marketing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of current codes, production procedures and materials and installation methods unique to our business units.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with Hargrove personnel, venue staff and clients when needed.
  • Excellent working knowledge of windows based computer systems and software including Microsoft Office. Experience with estimating and project management software a plus.
  • Ability and initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
